[Synopsis]

Matt Damon returns as the trained assassin Jason Bourne for the latest showdown in The Bourne Ultimatum. In the follow-up to 2002s The Bourne Identity and 2004s The Bourne Supremacy–the smash hits that have earned over $500 million at the global box office–acclaimed director Paul Greengrass (United 93, The Bourne Supremacy) joins returning cast members Julia Stiles and Joan Allen and new additions David Strathairn, Paddy Considine and Edgar Ramirez.

All he wanted was to disappear. Instead, Jason Bourne is now hunted by the people who made him what he is.

Having lost his memory and the one person he loved, he is undeterred by the barrage of bullets and a new generation of highly-trained killers. Bourne has only one objective: to go back to the beginning and find out who he was.

Now, in the new chapter of this espionage series, Bourne will hunt down his past in order to find a future.

He must travel from Moscow, Paris, Madrid and London to Tangier and New York City as he continues his quest to find the real Jason Bourne–all the while trying to outmaneuver the scores of cops, federal officers and Interpol agents with him in their crosshairs.

The Bourne Ultimatum will be shot in Morocco, Spain, France, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Stiles made her debut as conflicted office-bound CIA agent Nicky opposite Matt Damon in the original The Bourne Identity in 2002. She then reprised her role in the 2004 sequel The Bourne Supremacy. In the film’s latest instalment, The Bourne Ultimatum, her role has grown significantly, with the focus turning to the mysterious history between Nicky and Jason Bourne. Nicky becomes a target of the US super-agency and is on the run. Stiles is in a tense scene where she is chased through Tangiers by an assassin.

“I was really happy to get out of the office! In the first two films, Nicky was in the hub, talking on the phone. It was much more fun to be on the run and I enjoyed the physical part of it.”

“I never could have anticipated that we would make three films.”

“With the third one we looked back at Nicky’s evolution in the first two films and decided there was a way to exploit the fact that she had been around in the beginning.”

“I think it was interesting and challenging to play someone who has invested her whole life in this agency and then realises that the system has fallen to corruption and is disillusioned by that. There was an air of tension that had to be maintained throughout the film and that was not exactly easy. ”

“To a great extent because of my own experience as a director, I could understand Paul’s perspective better. And yes, I did try to learn the tricks of the trade from him.”

Universal Home Video has confirmed the street date for The Bourne Ultimatum. This Paul Greengrass directed film will be available to own from the 11th December. The extras have yet to be revealed, but further details will be available very shortly. Also available from the 11th will be The Jason Bourne Collection which includes The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum. The 4-disc set is loaded with hours of bonus materials, and features highly collectible “Safe Deposit Box” packaging including a Jason Bourne passport.
