Julia Styles and Paddy Considine have both signed to star in a new thriller, Cry Of The Owl, based on the 1963 novel by Patricia Highsmith.


Plot
The novel is about a woman who falls in love with her stalker. Considine, with his track record of playing weirdo’s and misfits will, of course, play the stalker who moves to Stiles’ suburban town and begins to spy on her. The two then start a twisted relationship which gets even more complicated when Scott Speedman turns up as Stiles’ ex who is seeking revenge.


Trivia
Julia’s role was originally filled by Sarah Polley, who dropped out due to a scheduling conflict.


Facts
The film will be directed by British director Jamie Thraves, who has also penned the screenplay.
BBC Films and Kirk D’Amico for Myriad Pictures will produce the project, which starts shooting in Toronto.
Principal photography is set to begin Oct. 30 2008 in Toronto.
